"It was such a great investment in Professional Development with personalised, flexible, and authentic guidance" - Keriann Reissenberger
During 2022, whilst preparing for the huge task of transitioning in three staff to fill the positions of three long term staff (including myself), it all felt a little overwhelming. As is often the case, there was also unexpected personal stuff happening at the time of professional responsibilities.
However, engaging Kerry Spina as a mentor the process all fell into place. Kerry worked alongside me and the incoming Nominated Supervisor/Teacher/Director to achieve positive change and smooth workplace transitions. We established clarity of our values and our own Strengths Profile. With Kerry's ongoing support we have been able to move forward with our current organisational values and how they look in action. Kerry will work with the 2023 team to move forward with how they will put their values into action.
The review of our philosophy and values has been enriched by the deeper reflections this process has allowed and what seemed initially overwhelming has direction and purpose. It was such a great investment in Professional Development with personalised, flexible, and authentic guidance.
Thank you, Kerry, for sharing and guiding us in this process.
July 2022 - Teacher/Leader at C&K Western Suburbs
"Kerry was open to make whatever we needed, happen!’ – Anthea Lewis, member of the
St Anthony’s Parents and Friends Association."
Our Parents and Friends (P&F) Association engaged with Kerry to organise growth mindset sessions for our parents and carers. The aim was to complement professional development our school’s teaching staff had recently received. As a parent body, we felt it was key to offer our school community a similar opportunity to support a foundational understanding of what growth mindset is and what it looks like in practice. It offered parents and carers the chance to become familiar with the language and thinking behind growth mindset. The sessions helped to create a way for parents and carers to connect home with the classroom and gain valuable insights into their child’s learning and well-being.
Kerry worked with me to shape the sessions to provide a solid introduction as well as incorporating pointers on how to support our children through their mistakes. To see Kerry in her element presenting such a powerful topic puts a smile on your face. The way Kerry blends her life lessons and vulnerabilities as a parent in with her professional experience as a parent educator, has a way of making everyone feel at ease and comfortably human.
The Townsville and surrounding communities are so fortunate to have such a quality educator and speaker as accessible as we do. I’d highly recommend engaging with Kerry Spina to discuss the possibilities for your next information session or event.
