Quick and Easy Self-Esteem Booster.

Apr 19, 2020

It doesn’t have to be hard to nurture values and growth mindset.

I created a set of Harmony Cards to make it joyful, connecting and easier. If you don’t have a set of Harmony Cards think of some inner qualities you would like to nurture, write them down and consider which ones you will focus on.

Otherwise, using your Harmony Cards for Kids you can give growth mindset praise to nurture your child’s self-esteem and self-belief.

Choose a Harmony Card you would like to encourage; kindness, friendliness, persistence, independence, enthusiasm, patience, gentleness or whatever you feel drawn towards. You could do a random pick and see where that takes you.

3 Steps to bringing that Virtue and Character Strength into your child’s self-awareness.

Name it: Language it.  Use the word.

Acknowledge.  How you see your child choosing to use the virtue.

“Thank you for being so kind and helping me pick up the dirty clothes off the floor.”  (You notice their action, you named the virtue…kindness and you acknowledged the action in which they used it).

1: Noticing

2: Naming

3: Acknowledging

It takes practice.

Put the 3 steps on the fridge or as a visual reminder and have a go.  When we nurture, and encourage virtues and character strengths we get to positively influence the way a child sees themselves and what they believe to be true about themselves.

You get to focus more on what’s STRONG and less on what is wrong.

Yours in Harmony
