About Our ProgramWhat we do!We Are A Creative Music Appreciation And Life Skills Program Music - Massage - Relaxation - Virtues Education
There is nothing quite like the Kids in Harmony program! With the combination of music, yoga play, massage, relaxation and virtues education we nurture the whole family. Our focus on family and parenting is something we are very proud of. Our passion and dedication is towards giving your child a love and respect for themselves and the world they live in. I love my world I love myself! Throughout a 45 minute class, the teacher engages the attention and excitement of the children and their carers by delivering this unique program of music and life skills. The core structure of Virtues education, music, massage and relaxation pave the way to many learning outcomes. Many original Kids in Harmony songs and activities are used as well as beautiful traditional songs to capturing the excitement and natural love of music in the hearts of our harmony children. All classes are age specific and kept to a maximum number to ensure an intimate and personal class environment. Music
Learning music at an early age gives children a passion for fun, adventure and movement. We lay the foundations for music in a professional and creative environment, designed for specific age groups to ensure that your child is given every opportunity to learn and grow. Our philosophy is - ‘Children learn through play’. It is with great delight that we give parents and children the opportunity of experiencing many different percussion instruments and many different ways of bringing music to the family unit. We believe that children learn music and life skills through feeling, expressing, and exploring. These three key elements are instrumental throughout our program. Kids in Harmony’ was created to inspire a new generation of children in becoming enthusiastic, confident and loving little music makers. Massage
Massage teaches respectful touch and the children can learn in a safe and nurturing environment. A hug, a gentle touch or a warm pat on the back can communicate so much. We also value the many virtues that respectful touch and massage can bring to the famility unit - trust, consideration, kindness, nurturing, gentleness, love, thoughtfulness and peace. The Massage in class is a short segment within the program and is creative and age related. Regular massage contributes enormously to your child's physical, emotional and mental development. It is the powerhouse of all bonding mediums and can be enjoyed by the entire family. Massage allows us to understand the true meaning of – ‘giving is receiving’. We also introduce an element of fun and creativity with textures, rhymes, music and story telling. There is nothing like a little pizza massage! Relaxation
We would like to think that children have an immunity to stress at such a young age. However with a combination of today's frantic lifestyle and a changing world, children may have as many stresses as adults. Teaching basic relaxation techniques to your child is one of the most important things you could do. Relaxation does not have to be complicated or sophisticated it just needs to be learned. Our relaxation segment is creative, inspiring and easily implemented within the home environment. This segment is so beautiful and such a needed skill for young children and their families. Original Kids in Harmony songs are a powerful tool, combined with craft, yoga influenced exercises and games. Virtues and Values Education Special messages are used weekly to promote and reflect virtues education. Our handouts are inspirational, informative and educational. We do not overload or bombard our families with written information but strive to have moderation in what we feel is important to share, connect and to assist in the character education of your child. Our facilitators deliver Virtues Education by the way we communicate and deliver our program and by the way we offer support to the children, families and our community. We are passionate in Virtues education and use may songs, yoga play activities, craft and creative activities both traditional and original to implement virtues education and character education. The Harmony centre also promotes virtues education by providing wonderful resources in the Harmony shop and on the website. Our 'Harmony Virtue' of the week is for all to read and to take from it what they need in their life, it inspires and generates conversation and investigation into the virtues.
