Our History of the Centre
Kids in Harmony had its first term in July 2003. We originally started in a little tin shed behind Arties Music. This shed was then painted and renamed the “funky purple shed”. We moved into a new premise in July 2004 (Where we reside today). The Kids in Harmony program was originally designed and created by Kerry Spina and Lucia Gosling. Due to the rapid expansion and success of her music business Lucia is no longer a director/owner at KIH however, she still plays an active role within the Kids in Harmony centre. Kerry Spina has been the principle owner operator of Kids in Harmony since July 2004 and continues her passion towards bringing life skills and music to the families at Kids in Harmony.
A note from Kerry (director/owner)
I am absolutely thrilled at the growth and demand for Kids in Harmony and I feel very proud to offer families such a nurturing and enriched learning environment. I am fortunate to have a unique team of passionate and highly motivated staff. The Kids in Harmony staff are responsible for the friendly, professional and caring service that families experience each week.
It is important for me to acknowledge and thank the families of Kids in Harmony. Without their support and kind words to their friends and to the people in the community Kids in Harmony would not be where it is today.
On behalf of the harmony team I would also like to thank all the parents/caregivers and their children for making us feel loved and valued in what we do. We will continue to appreciate you and your family while delivering this very special music and life skills program.
Yours in Harmony - Kerry
Our Centre
Kids in Harmony is a place where happiness happens and all worries can be left at the door. It is an accepting and supportive environment. Within our centre we have a reception area, the parent earth store, a music and yoga room with toilet facilities and the all important spare room for storing all that “stuff”. The centre has been designed for the children’s comfort.
The Music and Yoga Room
The music and yoga room is where the sessions take place in a spacious and clutter free environment. There are little distractions within this room and we find this most effective for all ages. The space also transforms into the Yoga room for children and Adults.
The Waiting Room
The waiting room is designed to be functional, yet homely. It is an area where you leave your shoes, keys and personal belongings in order to keep the music and yoga room free from distractions.
The Reception Area
The reception area is a friendly room with an aroma to melt away any stress this is where you are greeted each week and welcomed to your class. The Earth friendly shop Parent Earth is in this area.
